Proving Limited Atonement Is False Proves The Whole System Of Calvinism Is False

The five tenets of Calvinism are listed as follows: 1) Total hereditary depravity, 2) Unconditional election, 3) Limited atonement, 4) Irresistible grace, and 5) Preservation/Perseverance of the saints (TULIP). The pure Calvinist will tell you that all five of these points stand or fall together. In other words, he admits that if you prove any one of the tenets to be false, you prove the whole system (all five tenets) to be false! This is not hard to do.

The third point of the Calvinistic system is the doctrine of the limited atonement. This says Jesus did not come to die (make propitiation) for the sins of the whole world, but to die just for the sins of the elect/saved, that is, a pre-selected group of people (Christians). But I John 2:2 says Jesus “is the propitiation for our sins (Christians): and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” As can be easily seen, this verse flatly contradicts Mr. Calvin’s doctrine of the limited atonement; thus the whole system of doctrine set forth by Calvin (men) is laid to rest by one verse out of God’s Word! What is hard to understand about Heb 2:9? – “Jesus … by the grace of God should taste death for every man”
