Jesus Died For Everybody, Not Just The Elect
I Timothy 4:10 reads, "... we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe."This verse is first saying that Jesus died for (thereby making salvation available to) all men, and then it is saying those that believe are the ones that take advantage of (accept) the benefits of his death (as in Hebrews 5:9 → Jesus is the "author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him").Notice that God ... is the Saviour of all men, but the Calvinist thinks Jesus did not die for all men.Compare "specially" (Strong's #3122) with Galatians 6:10: … let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10 necessarily implies that Christians are to do good unto them who are not of the household of faith (non-Christians)."Specially of those that believe" then necessarily implies that Jesus died for even unbelievers/non-elect.
