Ephesians 2:14-16 Teaches We Are Not Under The Old Law Anymore

In our last message, Doctrine Matters pointed out how Colossians 2:14-17 proved the seventh day Sabbath is no longer binding today. Similar but more general wording is found in Ephesians 2:14-16 which reads: For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:Based upon Ephesians 2:14-16 then, Jesus abolished “the law,” that is, the law of Moses (Acts 13:39). That means Christians are not obligated to keep any of the Old Testament laws like circumcision, the Sabbath, animal sacrifices, etc., etc.. Instead Christians are obligated to keep the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2), the new testament law. That would also mean that in matters of faith, we must find authority for what we do from the New Testament; Old Testament justification will not do.
