I Timothy 2:11-12 versus Women Preachers

I Timothy 2:11-12 reads “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.”Notice the instruction in this verse (as regarding our topic) is for the woman to “not ... teach ... over the man.” When does the context indicate this instruction applies? At all times (verses 8-10), and that would certainly include the church assembly. So I Timothy 2:12 condemns a woman teaching over a man at any time. This would forbid her from:• leading a class that has men in it (church assembly or not)• preaching to the church assemblyI’m guessing about 90% of congregations allow women to preach to the church (which includes men of course). This verse forbids that clearly. There is no need to look for loopholes!
