Work Diligently

The Bible has a lot to say about our obligation to work diligently at our jobs or school …· Proverbs 10:4-5 Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth. He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.· Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.· Proverbs 6:6-11 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest-- and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.· Proverbs 20:4 The lazy man will not plow because of winter; He will beg during harvest and have nothing.· Ecclesiastes 10:18 If a man is lazy, the rafters sag; if his hands are idle, the house leaks.· Proverbs 12:24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.· Proverbs 28:19 He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, But he who follows frivolity will have poverty enough!We would be pleasing God and wise to take heed to such instruction.
