Jude 3 - God's New Covenant Law Was Once For All Delivered

Besides II Tim 3:16-17, another passage which implies the written scriptures are our sole authority in religion is Jude verse 3. It reads “Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.” (NKJV)“The faith” here is what Paul preached (Gal 1:23), our rule of faith, the gospel, the new covenant law. Based upon I Cor 13:8-13 (see Doctrine Matters message two weeks ago), the faith was delivered to the saints first in parts and pieces in oral form (prophecies, tongues, etc.), and then was gradually transitioned over to written in completion. The point of Jude 3 is that the faith was delivered “once for all” time. It was not going to be an ongoing delivery (revelation) all throughout the whole Christian dispensation (thru the Pope or any “Pentecostal” preacher). Conclusion: God’s New Testament law is complete in the New Testament - Sola Scriptura.
