Be a Legalist Like Jesus by Dylan Stewart

If you’ve ever been accused of being a “legalist” for stressing the importance of strictly obeying God’s laws, take it as a compliment because that’s exactly how Jesus taught:

1. “Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven” (Matt 5:19).

2. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone” (Matt 23:23).

3. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all (repeat – all – DTS) things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen” (Matt 28:19-20).
