Can The Congregation Do These Individual Activities?

Passages like I Tim 5:16 and Acts 5:4 show there is a difference in what an individual is authorized to do by the New Testament and what the church is necessarily authorized to do. Notice some practical differences:

Individual Church ?

eat common meals Acts 2:46 church social meals ?

bodily exercise I Timothy 4:8 church gymnasium ?

go into business Eph 4:28 church business ?

marital duties I Cor 7:3-5 church honeymoon suite ?

James W. Boyd (an institutional preacher):  “Brethren have for too long bought the false teaching that whatever an individual can do, the church can do.”
