Parallels To Col 2:16 Prove The WEEKLY Sabbath Is No Longer Binding

The following scriptures parallel to Colossians 2:16 show “meat, or in drink” refers to the DAILY observances of the Jews, “holyday” refers to the YEARLY, “the new moon” refers to the MONTHLY, and “the sabbath” refers to the WEEKLY …

Numbers 28 shows these four categories:

:4 in the morning and at even (daily)

:9 and on the Sabbath day (weekly)

:11,14 and in the beginning of your months, every month

:16,29:1,39 14th day of 1st month, 1st day 7th month, set feasts (yearly)

II Chronicles 2:4 for the burnt offerings morning and evening (daily), on the sabbaths (weekly), and on the new moons (monthly), and on the solemn feasts (yearly) of the Lord our God …

II Chronicles 8:12-13 Solomon offered burnt offerings … every day (daily), offering … on the sabbaths (weekly), and on the new moons (monthly), and on the solemn feasts (yearly)

II Chronicles 31:3 the morning and evening burnt offerings (daily), and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths (weekly), and for the new moons (monthly), and for the set feasts (yearly), as it is written in the law of the Lord

Nehemiah 10:33 for the continual meat offering (daily), and for the continual burnt offering, of the sabbaths (weekly), of the new moons (monthly), for the set feasts (yearly)

Ezekiel 45:17 And it shall be the prince’s part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings (daily), in the feasts (yearly), and in the new moons (monthly), and in the sabbaths (weekly)

Why is it important to know this? Because these parallels prove “the sabbath” (verse 16) that has been blotted out, taken out of the way, and nailed to cross (verse 14) is the weekly Sabbath, not the yearly sabbaths as the Seventh-Day Adventists claim. The yearly sabbaths have already been covered by the word “holyday” (“festival” – NKJV) in verse 16.
