Does Romans 3:10-11 Teach Inherited "Total Depravity" ?
Romans 3:10-11 reads "… There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God."This passage does not say anybody inherits sin, but that all DO sin → Notice verses 12-16,23:They are all gone (not born) out of the way, they are together become (not born) unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. … with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips; Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways ... For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.A person is not born depraved, but turns that way (via actions on their part):Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own wayGenesis 6:12 all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earthDeuteronomy 32:5 they have corrupted themselvesRomans 3:10-11 passage teaches the same as Romans 3:23 (“For all have sinned and, and come short of the glory of God”), and nothing more.
