May Women Preach Since All Christians Are Equal ?
It is certainly true that all Christians are equal in so far as their spiritual status before God → "there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28).But that doesn't mean men and women have the same role:• Does the fact that women “bear children” (I Timothy 5:14) and men do not, make women better than men and therefore contradict the principle "there is neither male nor female"?• Does the fact that wives should be in subjection to their husbands (Ephesians 5:22-24) contradict "there is neither male nor female"?• Does the fact that wives are to "guide the house" (I Timothy 5:14) and be a "keeper at home” (Titus 2:5), while men are to earn the living, mean men are better than women and therefore violate the principle "there is neither male nor female"?• Women are to have long hair; men are not to have long hair (I Corinthians 11:14-15). Does this mean women are better than men, or vice-versa?NO! It just means men and women have different roles. One difference in their role is that men may speak in the assembly, but women may not (I Corinthians 14:34-35). Look up that passage and read it for yourself.
