Baptist Logic Would Say Jews And Muslims Are Saved
If passages that require belief in Jesus for salvation (like John 3:16) prove believing in Jesus is all one has to do to be saved (and therefore water baptism is not necessary), then what about John 5:24 which only states belief in God the Father as a condition of salvation?Jesus said in John 5:24 - “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”According to Baptist logic then (and contrary to many scriptures like John 14:6 and John 8:24), John 5:24 would prove Jews and Muslims are saved (possess everlasting life), even though they never believe in Jesus, simply because they believe in God (the Father). See the parallel? No matter what we do, we just can’t eliminate scriptures like Acts 22:16 - Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
